CALENDAR EVENTS OF OLDSPRINGDALIANS


The UESCO Club of Springdales School, Dhaula Kuan organized a Special Assembly on 6th of August to observe tragedy of the 21st century. The students through songs, poems and articles emphasized the need for de-nuclearization, world peace and harmony among nations. The Chief Guest for the occasion, Dr. Satyajit Rath, Senior Scientist, Indian Institute of Immunology asked the students to implement the peace ideas into practice and work for a better world.
 

The third Dr. A.K. Saha Young Scientists Experimental Projects Inter-School Contest was hosted by Springdales School, Dhaula Kuan on August 10th, 2007. The contest was initiated in 2005 by two ex-students of the school, Dr. Abhijit Saha and Dr. Prasanjit Saha in the memory of their father Dr. A.K. Saha, Former Scientist at the National Physical Laboratory, New Delhi.

Many prestigious schools of Delhi participated in the contest which was open to students of class XI and XII in any branch of Science – Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Computer Science. Pre-selected abstracts in a research project were made into full-fledged presentations and displayed. These were judged by Dr. Sankara Reddy, Principal, Sri Venkateswara College, Dr. D.K. Bhattacharya, Scientist, D.R.D.O. and Dr. Debi Sarkar, Head of the Department of Bio-Chemistry at South Campus, Delhi University.

Present on the occasion was Dr. Abhijit Saha, who addressing the students said that the presentations were all of a very high quality and it was clear that the teams had not only worked hard but enjoyed the research they had done.

The A.K. Saha Memorial Trophy was presented to Amity International School and the Runner-Up Trophy to Springdales, Pusa Road.
